ECTRI

VTI is a member of the European Conference on Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI) since 2003 and is one of the founding members.

The European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI) is an international non‐profit association that was founded in April 2003. It is unique in uniting the forces of the foremost multimodal transport research centres across Europe and to thereby promote the excellence of European transport research.

Thanks to VTI being a member of ECTRI we have been able to exert more influence than we ever could have as a single institute.

Members of ECTRI are major transport research institutes and universities from the different European countries. Together, they account for more than 4,000 scientific and research staff in the field of transport and mobility.

ECTRIs missions are:

  • to facilitate the representation and cooperation of its Members,
  • to provide independent, evidence‐based advice to decision-makers in Europe, and
  • to promote mobility research and enhancing its scientific quality and effectiveness.
