National Transport Library – what we do
We are tasked by the Swedish government to be the national transport library, a resource for everyone. We disseminate Swedish transport research nationally and internationally, and participate in networks both within and outside Sweden.
Providing support and guidance to everyone
If you are looking for information and literature about traffic, transport and infrastructure, you are welcome to contact us at the National Transport Library – we are a national resource for everyone. We provide answers to questions about transport research, you can also borrow books, order article copies and request both simple and more extensive information searches. We also provide assistance and support to Swedish authorities and organisations regarding publication-related issues, e-publication storage needs, and library services.
The national assignment also includes monitoring, collecting and making available Swedish publications in the fields of transport, transport and infrastructure, for all modes of transport. We monitor research funders, higher education institutions, research centres, the state and municipalities, various organisations and companies. The publications are searchable in our National Transport Library Catalogue, which provides a single entry point to our large collection of publications, many with links to freely available full texts.
Our National Transport Library Research Database, which is under construction, is the single entry point to information about Swedish projects in transport research. Here you can search for both ongoing and completed research projects. Our aim is also to link to the results the various projects have generated.
Disseminating Swedish transport research
To increase the exposure of Swedish transport research, both nationally and internationally, we disseminate the information through several channels. The figure below shows the main channels we use.
