Dr. Jonas Jansson is the Head of the Traffic and Road User Department at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI). The department focuses on traffic safety, vehicle technology, human factors, sustainable mobility, and active modes of transportation. Dr. Jansson has a background in driver support systems and vehicle dynamics. From 1999 to 2007, he worked at Volvo Car Corporation as the function owner for Volvo’s automatic emergency braking system. His doctoral thesis, in the field of automatic control, focused on pre-crash braking systems. His current research interests include integrating road safety with sustainable mobility, remote operation of cooperative connected automated vehicles, electromobility, and powered two-wheeler (PTW) safety.
