PhD Göran Blomqvist is a senior researcher at VTI with 27 years of experience in researching environmental effects of winter road maintenance, primarily the function, spread and effects of road salt. He took his PhD in 2001 with a thesis on the environmental effects of winter road maintenance and has since continued to conduct applied research on environmentally related transport issues such as road dust pollution and mitigation methods. The research area includes both method and technology development for new monitoring methods and sampling systems for the condition of the road surface and pollution dispersion.
He has 20+ peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals, 90+ international conference contributions, 60+ research reports in Swedish, and a dozen popular science texts in Swedish, Nordic, and international magazines.
