Lina Nordin is Head of the Infrastructure Department at VTI.
The department conducts research on transport infrastructures, covering everything from materials and road construction to optimal maintenance and management. It also houses advanced research infrastructure for accelerated testing, crash research, and workshop facilities.

Lina earned her PhD in 2015 from the University of Gothenburg with a dissertation on Energy Efficiency in Winter Road Maintenance. After a few years in university administration, she joined VTI as a researcher in 2018 and later became Head of Research in 2023.

Her main research areas at VTI have been climate adaptation, digitalisation, and electrification, with a strong focus on electric roads. Among other things, she has been responsible for two work packages within the FFI-funded Research and Innovation Platform for Electric Roads, and has served as project manager for VTI’s contributions to the electric road demonstration project in Lund.

Lina is also a member of PIARC’s Technical Committee on Road Infrastructure for Road Transport Decarbonisation.
