VTI and Horiba at Tire Technology International Expo & Conference 2026

In the first week of March, VTI’s Ulf Sandberg attended the annual Tire Technology International Expo and Conference in Hanover, Germany.

This year’s conference placed a strong emphasis on tyre and road wear particles (TRWP) and non-exhaust emissions (NEE). Over one and a half days, speakers from tyre manufacturers, consultancies, universities and research institutes shared insights into these topics, while other functional properties of tyres and their components were covered in four parallell sessions over the rest of the three conference days.

Attracting huge crowds, the event is an unprecedented opportunity to networking with those who are involved in research and abatement of TRWP and NEE.

Dr Sandberg delivered a presentation about innovative airless tires: "Attempting to build an airless heavy truck tire."

From NEEVE, also two persons from Horiba attended the event.
