LIFE NEEVE Workshop at HORIBA Headquarters

LIFE NEEVE Workshop at HORIBA Headquarters

The event included technical deep dives, roadmap planning, and visits to HORIBA’s test centers in Oberursel and Flörsheim.

From 28 to 30 October 2025, HORIBA welcomed partners of the LIFE NEEVE project to its headquarters in Oberursel for an intensive technical workshop dedicated to Work Package 3 (WP3).

This work package plays a key role in the project’s mission to tackle non-exhaust emissions (NEE) from brakes, tyres, and pavements, while also assessing their impact on human health and urban air quality.

Workshop Objectives and Key Topics

Over three days, experts from CIEMAT, VTI, ICERBRAKES, CHM, University of Sevilla, UMH, and RDT joined HORIBA’s team to review progress, align strategies, and plan the next steps.

The discussions focused on developing a real-time onboard measurement module, designing innovative brake pads, tyres, and asphalt mixtures, and creating advanced organoid models to study health impacts. Another major topic was the implementation of dispersion modelling tools to simulate particle behavior and climate effects in urban environments.

Outcome

The workshop not only provided a platform for technical deep dives but also strengthened collaboration among partners. A clear roadmap for upcoming milestones was agreed upon, ensuring that WP3 remains on track to deliver its ambitious objectives.

Site Visits

Beyond the meeting sessions, participants had the opportunity to visit HORIBA’s Application Laboratory and Test Centers in Oberursel and Flörsheim. These visits offered valuable insights into HORIBA’s capabilities in emission measurement, brake testing, and advanced particle analysis, highlighting the company’s role as a solution provider in addressing emerging environmental challenges.
