Henriette Wallén Warner, a senior researcher at VTI, has been chosen as President Elect, which is the first step towards becoming President of Division 13, Traffic and Transport Psychology, within IAAP. In four years, she will transition to the four-year term of office as president, and then step down as a Past-President for two years. She has thereby accepted a ten-year commitment to the organisation.

Founded in 1920, the International Association for Applied Psychology (IAAP) is the oldest and largest international association of individual members and affiliated international associations. It works to promote science and practice of applied psychology and to facilitate interaction and communication among applied psychologists around the world.

IAAP Division 13 owns the ICTTP conference (International Conference on Traffic and Transport Psychology), which is held every four years and recently in Gothenburg, with VTI and Safer as hosts. As President-Elect, she participates in the decisions to appoint hosts for future conferences. She will also be involved in arranging a parallel session devoted to traffic and transport psychology at the International Congress of Applied Psychology (ICAP), which is also held every four years.

Networking at international level is important and, among other things, IAAP organises a scientific marathon for its members. Over 24 hours, on 16-17 October, doctoral students from throughout the world, including doctoral students who have recently publicly defended their doctoral theses, presented their projects in applied psychology.

"I feel very honoured by the appointment. It will be a pleasure to work for the division while looking forward to building a larger international network. Among other things, we will concentrate on increasing membership numbers after the major decline during the pandemic", says Henriette Wallén Warner
