At its disposal the VTI has an advanced servo-hydraulic material testing system consisting of six loading rigs and nine hydraulic cylinders.
System control and data acquisitions are based on three PCs using ATS (Automated Testing System) software in Windows environment. The software is highly flexible and has been specially developed for material testing in road laboratories.
The system can be used in many applications, but is mainly intended for mechanical testing of materials intended for use in pavement layers.
