Quality and environment

VTI is quality certified according to ISO 9001 and environmentally certified according to ISO 14001. Both certificates are issued by Det Norske Veritas, DNV, and cover all of our operations. Some of the testing methods at VTI's laboratories where crash tests and road materials tests are carried out are accredited by Swedac.

Quality policy

VTI will carry out its operations and deliver high quality products that meet customer demands and expectations in line with agreed terms and conditions. We will meet customer expectations so that VTI is perceived as the most interesting and competent provider of applied research in the road and transport sector.

All employees will be responsible for ensuring that the work they perform is in accordance with established quality procedures and that they have the skills required to assume such responsibility. We will work continuously with the improvement of quality within our own organization.

Environmental policy

VTI is an important national resource for environmental work in the transport sector, and VTI's research and development operations will contribute to ensure that the transport policy's environmental objectives are met. Environmental work at VTI therefore focuses on the indirect environmental impact through the advancement and sharing of knowledge and the direct environmental impact of its operations.

VTI's environmental efforts will strive for continuous improvement. All activities at the VTI will be characterized by respect for the environment, the conservation of energy and other resources, life-cycle thinking and the prevention of pollution. Legislation will be complied to and other requirements must be met. Employees will be offered the opportunity to develop their skills so that an active involvement in environmental activities is stimulated. Environmental work will be documented and available to internal and external stakeholders.
