Research Profile
Senior researcher in the field of Highway engineering with experience of research projects concerning the mechanical properties of asphalt concrete, Evaluation of pavement in respect of fatigue cracking and permanent deformation in asphalt concrete layer is of his interest. Research has partly been concentrated on studying and evaluating Indirect tensile tests for stiffness and fatigue characteristics, as well as a VTI developed shear test for determination of rheological properties of asphalt concrete. Recent research work is focused on characterization of asphalt material with respect to shear properties and viscosity at various conditions. The data is used for modelling permanent deformation of asphalt concrete layers for prognosticating of rutting using linear viscoelastic theory due repeated traffic loading in the field. The model is called PEDRO (PErmanent Deformation of asphalt concrete layer for ROads).
